Sheila was born in Georgia and graduated with a BS degree from the University of Georgia. She and her husband Ron have lived in Austin for over thirty five years, developing roots for both themselves and their two children. She has been a very active community volunteer in Zachary Scott Guild and Laguna Art Guild. She served on the Brackenridge Foundation Board, chairing the Children’s Miracle Network Telethon, as well as various other committees regarding fundraising for the Children’s Hospital. She has served on the Ronald McDonald House board as well as many committees for the Bandana Ball. She also served several years on the board for the Helping Hand Society, chairing the Gala for Helping Hand Home for Children. Most recently she chaired the Foundation Board and Investment Committee for the Helping Hand Society.
Because of her enjoyment and success of working with people, and her passion for decorating and remodeling homes, she chose real estate as her career. She loves the challenge of finding the perfect home for all her clients, as well as helping them with listing and selling their current home.
Sheila has been representing buyers and sellers at Wilson & Goldrick Realtors for fifteen years and counting. She works in many areas of town including Westlake, Tarrytown, Pemberton, Barton Creek, Northwest Hills, South Austin, and downtown.
"I have worked twice with Sheila Paynter, both as a buyer and a seller. Each time she went above and beyond the call of duty to help me get the best possible transaction. Sheila is a good negotiator, a sage advisor, and a hard worker. She is always available to answer questions, give help, and help move the deal forward. Her cheerful disposition makes her a joy to work with. I recommend her highly for super-professional, concierge touch representation on any real estate deal."
“Thank you so very much for your successful efforts to sell my high-end property. You went above and beyond the call of duty to prepare, maintain and market my condo and thankfully, due to my busy travel and work schedule, made the process almost effortless on my part. For that, and your unwavering attention to detail, you will be my first call if I need a realtor in the future and I certainly will strongly recommend you to friends and business acquaintances.”
Sheila Paynter worked with my husband and me for over two years as we struggled to agree on an Austin home to buy while living out of state. Beyond her professional skills as a realtor, Sheila brings qualities that are so rare and so important – patience and empathy. We struggled first to agree on what part of town to live in—Sheila showed us home after home in different neighborhoods. Regardless of the area you visit, she always has a friend that lives nearby and her connectedness to people across Austin allows her to provide insightful advice. She shares the good and the not so good, making sure you are informed. At one point, we were working a contract remotely and she called me that evening concerned about the neighborhood traffic. She described what she had experienced that evening at rush hour to make sure it would not be a concern for us if we bought a home a few streets away. Her thoughtfulness and openness builds such trust.
Her relationships with seller’s agents are always productive; people want to work with her. She knows the best inspectors and contractors and they show up for her. Regardless of the obstacles we ran into with some of the older homes we considered, she could bring in the necessary professionals. She worked three contracts for us – two of which fell through. Nevertheless, her attitude was always optimistic and she made us feel as though we were making the right decision each and every time.
Sheila is a delight to work with. She is personable and interesting and makes long days of house hunting not just bearable but fun! Despite the lack of inventory, and a long list of criteria, she will find you a house and a neighborhood that you will love.
I have purchased two homes in my life and sold one and all with my mother, Sheila Paynter, as the realtor.
Now most would say that I am partial, however I am simply stating the facts of why I would not only continue to sell and buy with her but also recommend her.
I am a big believer in not mixing business with family or friends, however from Sheila’s approach and work ethic, I knew that the relationship would not be an interference during the process.
She is professional, detailed, competitive, honest and customer focused. All qualities that anyone would want by their side when making a big life decision and purchase on buying/selling a home. Her commitment and guidance throughout the process ensured for a smooth experience with our best interests in mind. With Sheila being an Austin resident for over 35 years and her knowledge of the market and insight within the community, she has guided my husband and me not only to beautiful homes with exactly what we were looking for - but smart purchases. Both have shown significant appreciation, resulting in great investments for us.
I recommend Sheila Paynter for your future real estate needs. Not only does she have your best interests in mind but the drive to close the deal!
“My wife Susan and I recently purchased a beautiful four bedroom home in Lost Creek. We would have never found it without the help of Sheila Paynter and the group at Wilson Goldrick Realtors. We met Sheila over the July 4th holiday weekend, after three months of unsuccessfully searching for a home. Sheila listened carefully to our goals, and thoughtfully developed a search criteria based on our budget and our “best case scenario” wish list. Consistently, she would present opportunities in our target region, some of which we would learn about before they hit the market. I continue to compliment Sheila’s willingness to make herself available by phone, email and text, as many issues were time sensitive.
We had no better advocate during our real estate search than Sheila. She raised various questions to sellers and agents that we would not have thought to ask. Once we selected the perfect house and were under contract, Sheila’s value really shined through. She guided us well through the inspection and repair processes, increasing the value of our purchase dramatically. Every recommended service provider delivered what was expected reliably. Sheila’s warmth, dependability and character have continued to be an asset through to closing and as we have gotten familiar with our new neighborhood. Susan and I couldn’t recommend someone any higher than we do Sheila Paynter and Wilson Goldrick. Together, we finished our difficult search in a hotly contested real estate market with a home that provided everything on our wish list. Our two young daughters often ask about Sheila and think of her as a close family friend. Hopefully we will be in this property for many years. However, should we find ourselves beginning the search process again, my first call will be to Sheila.”
“My husband and I recently relocated to Austin from Dallas. Our time was limited and most everything had to be handled long distance. Sheila Paynter could not have been more accommodating and helpful. She was more than willing to do whatever was necessary to find us the perfect house and took care of many of the details for us; going above and beyond what was expected, even after the move. We would definitely recommend Sheila to anyone needing to buy or sell a home.”
“We were very pleased with her professionalism during the selling of our home located in the Austin Mueller Subdivision. She was very knowledgeable of the local market and was willing to make the calls to cultivate and close the sale. She has been one of the best realtors we have used in our 15+ transactions. We always knew where we stood with Sheila. We have and will continue to recommend her to our friends. We will use her again if we elect to enter the Austin market in the future.”
“Sheila Paynter doesn’t just show you three houses and calls it a day. When you go out with Sheila to look at available properties, you had better have on your comfortable shoes and be prepared for a thorough and tireless house-hunting experience. Sheila won’t stop until you do. We appreciated that when we came from out of town to house hunt in Austin. Better still, Sheila gave us objective feedback about the homes we looked at which helped us make an informed decisions – and we felt that helped us make a better investment. We’d recommend Sheila to anyone who is unhappy with their current realtor and the choices they’re seeing. She helped us make the most of our time and our money, so we could find just the right fit in Austin.”
“Sheila took the time to get to know our needs, held our hand throughout the selling and buying process, and represented our interests succinctly when meeting with buyers and sellers. She proved to be a wealth of information during our relationship and gave valuable advice when needed. Not only does Sheila know Austin and its neighborhoods, she is a great resource for architects, builders, designers, etc. She truly made our home selling and property buying experience smooth and enjoyable!”
