Austin has several great events featuring BBQ, cars, movies, music, and more to enjoy this October!

Austin City Limits Music Festival
9/30-10/2 & 10/7-10/9 | Zilker Park
What better city to host one of the country’s largest celebrations of music than the Live Music Capital of the World? ACL showcases more than 130 musical acts on eight stages over two weekends in Austin’s Zilker Park. In addition to the music, people can enjoy food and drinks from local restaurants and vendors, an Art Market, mini-fest for kids, and more. Good music, good food, good times!

Operation American Muscle
10/1 | Camp Mabry
The 3rd Annual Operation Muscle Car Show features live music, a food truck competition, and silent auction. Registration includes an event t-shirt, and proceeds from the event benefit Wounded Warrior Project.

Banger’s Oktoberfest
10/13-10/16 | Banger’s Sausage House & Beer Garden
This is one of the biggest Oktoberfest celebrations in town, spanning four days (and nights). Eat, drink, dance, and play at this all-out party on Rainey Street.

Austin Film Festival
10/13-10/20 | Paramount Theatre & Various Locations
Recognized as one of the top film festivals in the country, this cinematic event shines the spotlight on both top-billed films and indies alike.

Dia de los Muertos Music Festival
10/15 | Fiesta Gardens
The festival will feature renowned recording artists in the Latin and Texas music industries. There will also be food and beverages, cultural performances, altar contest, as well as Kids Zone activities.

Oktoberfest
10/17 | German Free School
The German-Texan Heritage Society holds this annual festival featuring live music, food, a biergarten, kid’s activities, and more at the German Free School.

FORMULA 1 United States Grand Prix
10/21-10/23 | Circuit of The Americas
International drivers will be in Austin this October to compete in the Formula 1 United States Grand Prix at the Circuit of The Americas track. This event promises three days of racing, camping, live music events and more – including performances by Taylor Swift and The Weeknd.

AustOberfest
10/22 | Scholz Garten
This year, the Austin Saengerrunde will celebrate the 4th annual AustOberfest in conjunction with the 150th anniversary of Scholz Garten, the oldest continuously operating tavern in the state. This festival celebrates German heritage in Texas with beer, sausage, live music, and bowling!

Austin Symphony Orchestra Presents: Halloween Children’s Concert
10/23 | The Long Center for the Performing Arts – Dell Hall
This concert is a wonderful chance for you to introduce your children to the wonders of live orchestral music, and also a great opportunity to wear costumes and have tons of fun. The concert hall will be decorated top to bottom to enhance your little one’s concert experience.

Texas Monthly BBQ Festival
10/30 | City Terrace at The Long Center
Celebrating its seventh year, this tasty festival allows you to sample smoked goodness from 27 BBQ joints off the magazine’s list of “The 50 Best BBQ Joints in the World!”. There will also be drinks, giveaways, and interactive games to enjoy.

Ironman 70.3 Austin
10/30 | Various Locations
Race in Texas’s capital of cool with one of the only indoor finishes on the Ironman circuit. The swim will begin in Lake Walter E. Long, the bike ride will loop through rolling Texas farmlands, and final run will end inside Luedecke Arena.

Texas Fireworks Dia de los Muertos Celebration
10/31 | Kreig Baseball Field
Light up your Halloween night with pyrotechnics at Kreig Softball Fields, presented by Planet K.
