Festivals and fun events fill Austin in the Fall to help kick-start the holiday season!

11/1-11/5 – Austin Film Festival

Recognized as one of the top film festivals in the country, the Austin Film Festival brings together film lovers from all over the world. The festival offers an exceptional program of narrative, animation and documentary features and shorts, including premieres, advanced screenings, and independent films. Screenings are often accompanied by question and answer sessions with cast members and filmmakers.

11/6-11/8 – Fun Fun Fun Fest

Throughout the years, Fun Fun Fun Fest has become renowned for its musical lineup, as well as its collection of comedy, food, action sports, and poster art experiences. The festival is custom booked for the most passionate, underground, and progressive musicians, comedians and fans around the world. In its 9th year, it’s now recognized as one of the most relaxed, creative, and pioneering festivals in music today.

11/7-11/8 – US Vintage Racing National Championship

Old meets new when over 400 competitors test iconic racing machines on the Circuit of the Americas state of the art track! See some of the craziest, most charismatic and passionate racing to hit the track this year.

11/6-11/16 – Wurstfest

Taking place in New Braunfels, Wurstfest is a unique celebration rich in German culture and full of Texas fun! The event includes good food, music, dancing, exciting carnival rides and games, German, Texan and domestic beer, special events and the finest in Alpine and Bavarian Style Entertainment.

11/18-11/22 – A Christmas Affair

A Christmas Affair is the largest fundraiser for The Junior League of Austin. The four-day event hosts around 200 vendors in a themed shopping extravaganza that includes parties and children’s events. The money raised from the event helps the Junior League’s members volunteer and provide financial support to 29+ community nonprofits.

11/27-12/24 – Blue Genie Art Bazaar

Celebrating its 15th year, the Blue Genie Art Bazaar is a unique holiday art show that takes place at the Marchesa Hall & Theatre. The Bazaar features handmade artwork & gifts from over 200 local & regional artists – with a portion of proceeds going to Make-A-Wish® Foundation. Free parking and admission!

11/26 – ThunderCloud Subs Turkey Trot

This year marks the 25th anniversary of the ThunderCloud Subs Turkey Trot, a cherished Thanksgiving Day tradition in Austin. It’s grown to be the largest five-mile run in Texas, and one of the largest Turkey Trots in the nation. All of the event proceeds are donated to Caritas of Austin, which provides education and support services to working poor people to help them become self-sufficient.

11/28 – Chuy’s Christmas Parade

The annual Chuy’s Children Giving to Children Parade, benefiting Operation Blue will be held in Downtown Austin. Each guest brings a new, unwrapped toy to donate to Blue Santa. Parade highlights include marching bands, giant inflatable balloons, and festive floats with music.
