It’s officially summer, and Austin has several exciting events to get out and enjoy this June!

Bullock IMAX and Texas Spirit Theater Present Island of Lemurs: Madagascar 3D

Island of Lemurs: Madagascar
takes audiences on a spectacular journey to the island nation of Madagascar, where Lemurs arrived as castaways millions of years ago and evolved into hundreds of diverse species.  Trailblazing scientist Dr. Patricia Wright shares her lifelong mission to help these highly endangered creatures survive in the modern world.  The incredible true story is narrated by Academy Award® winner Morgan Freeman.

X Games Austin
6/2-6/5 | Circuit of the Americas
A festival that highlights the intersection of sports and lifestyle that exists in action sports, with more than 250 of the best action sports athletes competing for the most coveted medals in Skateboard, BMX Freestyle, Moto X and more.

6/4 | The Long Center
A city favorite, this summer family event returns for its fifth year from 9am-1pm on the City Terrace and expansive lawns of the Long Center.  Everyone is invited to the free annual celebration of open play, where there will be live music, various activities, chalk art, trailer food—and of course, tons of bubbles!

TX German Bier and Kase Festival
6/4 | Austin Saengerrunde and Scholz Garten
Texas craft breweries bring their best German-style bier to this annual festival and grilled kase (cheese) competition. Live music and local vendors will round out the event.

ATX Television Festival
6/9-6/12 | Downtown Austin
ATX Festival is the first festival devoted to Television’s history and future.  It functions like a traditional film festival with premieres of new series, current hits and cult favorites.  ATX Television Festival also offers access to the industry’s leading professionals with cast and creator Q&A’s and panels focusing on innovation in both production and content delivery.

Republic of Texas Biker Rally
6/9-6/12 | Travis County Exposition Center and Sixth Street
The state’s largest motorcycle gathering attracts thousands of bikers for rides, parades and music.

Blues on the Green
| Zilker Park
The 2nd of 4 shows this summer will feature Wild Child and Max Frost.  Held every summer at Zilker Park, Blues on the Green is Austin’s largest free concert series, and one of Austin’s favorite traditions.

Keep Austin Weird Fest & 5K
6/25 | Downtown Austin
Anything is possible at this decade-old Austin extravaganza! Run, skip, or race through the streets of downtown Austin wearing a fun, crazy costume.  Unofficially known as “the slowest 5K you will ever run,” this race is designed for amusement and fun.
